HYDROLOGIC MONITORING AND METEOROLOGICAL DATA COLLECTION IN THE MISSISSIPPI COASTAL REGION
The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources, and the Jackson County Civil Defense/Emergency Management Agency, have established a network of data collection stations in the Mississippi Coastal region to collect water-level, water-quality, and meteorological data. These data are used by state, local, and private agencies to monitor current hydrological and meteorological conditions that effect their agencies mission related activities, as well as by federal agencies and academic institutions currently engaged in studying this unique ecosystem.
