Kerry Arthur This document is available in pdf format:  OFR_02_292 (3.04 Mb)(Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader) ABSTRACT This report summarizes the time-of-travel of solutes information for Mississippi streams that is available in the files of the U.S. Geological Survey. The time-of-travel information was tabulated for 926 miles of stream reaches in seven of the ten major drainage basins in the State. The data were collected during studies conducted from 1963 through 1980. Estimation of time-of-travel of solutes is important for environmental studies of streams and may be critical in the event of accidental or other spills of contaminants into a waterway.
