Data from realtime streamflow gages are relayed to the Mississippi District office in Jackson through the Geostationary Operational Evnironmental Satellite (GOES) data-collection system. Data are transmitted from each station at 4 hour intervals and are loaded onto the Mississippi District computer system.

      Realtime streamflow data available on the Mississippi District Hme Page are PROVISIONAL data that have not been reviewed or edited. These data may be subject to significant change and are not citeable until reviewed and approved by the U.S. Geological Survey. Realtime streamflow data may be canged after revuew because the stage-discharge relationship may have been affected by:

• backwater from debris such as log jams or other downstream condition
• algal and aquatic growth in the stream
• sediment movement
• malfunction of recording equipment
• lightning or other meteorological anomalies
• tidal flow
